PackFish 7 Important Features
This boat packs some pretty awesome features into a small portable package.
NMMA Certified
The PackFish7 is NMMA Certified meaning that each boat complies with industry safety and construction standards and federal regulations.
Color
The Hunter green color gives it a real fishing/camouflage feel yet the orange accents keep it highly visible. Nice color combination, it looks great.
Deluxe One-Way Valves
There are two deluxe one-way valves making this boat very easy to inflate.
The dual air chambers are also a great safety feature.
If you should ever get a leak in one air chamber you still have another one that will keep you afloat and get you back to shore safely.
36” Fish Rulers
A nice added touch are the two 36” fish rulers on either side of the boat.
These allow you to easily measure your catch without bringing along any extra tools.
Built-In Rod Holders
The two built-in rod holders keep your rods secure even while paddling.
Pouch Pockets
The two orange side pouch pockets are ideal for storing your tackle and tools.
They are not overly large but we found they could hold a surprising amount of stuff. Plus they are easily accessible from the seating position.
We love that a cupholder is included on top of each pouch pocket…. A well thought out feature.
Built-In Stow Bag
The built-in stow bag located at the back of the raft right behind the seat is perfect for storing the PackFish backpack or other small essentials.
Hands Free Oarlock Attachment System
The Oarlock Attachment system allows you to concentrate on fishing and not worry about losing your oars. It works great.
Tracking Strips
Underneath the boat are two built-in tracking strips.
The tracking strips are incredibly helpful especially in wind. They help to increase stability and keep the boat paddling straight.
Floor Board
The marine plywood floor board is an optional accessory that we would highly recommend. It is included in the ‘Pro Fishing’ package.
It allows you to stand and cast on a nice stable platform. It weighs roughly 5 lb. and is easy to install in only seconds…
After inflating the first air chamber, place the board in the boat, then inflate the second air chamber.
We tried the PackFish with and without the floor board and we definitely preferred it with.
We felt fairly stable standing with the floor board inserted and found that it added some extra rigidity to the boat.

Inflatable Seat
The inflatable seat that is included in each package is great. When not inflated it fits easily into the backpack carry bag.
To inflate there is an air valve for the bottom seat portion and another air valve for the back. With the foot pump it literally only takes a few seconds to inflate.
We found it to be very comfortable. The back support is decent and it allows you to sit up a little higher for a better viewpoint.
There is a storage pouch at the back of the seat that is handy for storing things you need easy access to.
Fully enclosed heavy duty fabric floor
The fully enclosed zippered fabric floor is durable and easy to dry.
4 Carry Handles
There is one carry handle on each side of the boat as well as one on each end.
With the side handles it is easy to pick up and carry by yourself.
With the end handles you can carry it with a friend if anyone is out with you.
QuikClip Connections
On each side of the boat are two small velcro straps that allow you to secure the oars to each side so they are not flopping around.
The QuikClip connections are ideal to use when portaging.
Setup
Setup honestly could not be any easier.
The first time you setup you will want to carefully go through the instructions and follow step by step to get the valves attached and the oarlock attachments in place.
After the initial setup process you can expect to be fully setup each time in under 5 minutes. It is truly that quick.
It took us roughly 3-4 minutes to inflate both air chambers with the foot pump and only a minute to inflate the seat and add that plus the floor board into the boat.
Portability & Versatility
The PackFish7 has no frames so it is very portable and easily stows away into a small space.
You can carry it to remote, hard to reach fishing spots. You can store it on a larger boat and use it to get to fishing areas that a big boat cannot go.
You can transport it in the trunk of your vehicle, in your RV, on an airplane or even by bus! It can go anywhere.
It also handles quite well on different types of waterways but is best suited for calm water.
Backpack Carry Bag
The nylon backpack carry bag has one large zippered pocket that fits the PackFish and the inflatable seat.
There is an outside zippered pocket that fits the foot pump.
You could also add in the oars but they will stick out the top.
The adjustable shoulder straps make it easy to carry and we had no trouble carrying it to and from the water.
Quality
Sea Eagle is known for making very durable inflatable boats and include a great 3-year warranty with all of their boat purchases.
The PackFish is extremely well made and the quality is evident as soon as you inflate it.
This boat is solid and with a little care should last you a long time.
We have reviewed a lot of boats over the years and have never had any issues with any of the Sea Eagle products.
The Negative
There isn’t a lot to complain about with the PackFish. If you are looking for the ultimate portable fishing vessel then this is a great option.
The space is utilized well and we found it to be very functional.
The only negatives we would point out are the fact that there is no motor attachment and there is not a lot of extra room for extras like a cooler.
However that being said you have to take this boat for what it is. It was not meant for a motor and it is supposed to be ultra-portable meaning the size had to be kept small.
Therefore we feel that the space it does provide is quite excellent. There is room to stretch out your legs and the side pockets allow you to store your tools.
